Nivinngajuliaat from Baker Lake
The creative spirit of the Baker Lake community is epitomized in the art of wall hangings, or nivinngajuliaaq in Inuktitut. Established as a permanent settlement in the 1950s, Baker Lake is situated at Canada's geographical centre and is home to some of the most stunning wall hangings in the world. Featuring pieces from the Government of Nunavut Fine Art Collections, on loan to the WAG, you're in for a colourful treat when you step inside the Gallery.
