Transcona Trails

The Transcona Trails are a wide variety of hiking and cycling trails in and around Transcona. The trails range from 1 kilometre to 6.7 kilometres. They are easy to access. Most of the trails are paved but some have a limestone surface. Transcona is the eastern suburb of Winnipeg but functions like an independent small town. The Transcona Trail is a good way to explore our quiet community and see some of the open spaces that still exist in our city. The Cordite Trails are 2 grass footpaths with interpretive signs about the Cordite Plant. The Manitoba Lotteries Fitness Trail has outdoor exercise equipment and nature interpretive signs. Currently you may have to go on sidewalks or the shoulder of a road for a few blocks to connect between some of the trails but work is in progress to improve the connections between the various trails in the network. The Duff Roblin Parkway Trail on the floodway and the Chief Peguis Trail may be accessed from Transcona.
