Narcisse Wildlife Management Area

This is the setting where tens of thousands of red-sided garter snakes emerge from the limestone sinkholes and tangle in a mating ritual during the first two weeks in May. They return to their dens in early September remaining active and visible until cool weather forces them underground. Snake activity updates can be found here. http://www.naturenorth.com/spring/creature/garter/Narcisse_Snake_Dens.html
