It's time to celebrate the springtime in the sweetest way possible! Head to the small Francophone town of St-Pierre-Jolys for the annual Sugaring-Off Festival. You'll have the opportunity to see how real maple syrup is made plus try it for yourself at the St. Pierre Sugar Shack (cabane à sucre). You can also indulge in traditional French-Canadian food and watch historical demonstrations.

5. Shop and Eat in a Small Town

Venture to a small town in Manitoba for shopping and food!

H.P. Tergesen & Sons is an institution in Gimli. The store was established in 1899 as a general merchant and has been passed down through four generations of the Icelandic family. Though the building itself may be old and historic, the products inside are modern and fun. The store carries the latest in women and men's fashion, locally-made jewellery, unique Gimli souvenirs and is the best place in the town to buy books, particularly by Manitoban authors.

While in Gimli, grab a bite to eat at local haunts like Ship and Plough or Brennivins Pizza Hus.

6. Grab a Pint and a Playing Card

Head to Kilter Brewing Co. every Wednesday from 6 pm to 10 pm for game night with Victory Pints! They offer a vast array of entertaining board games with experts on hand to suggest a new game AND provide guidance on how to play.

10. Attend a Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

On Monday, April 8, the moon will pass between the sun and the Earth, which will produce a partial eclipse in Manitoba.
