You drive by Winnipeg’s unique architecture and iconic landmarks all the time – why not see them up close by walking The Loop. This 9.5km urban walking trail takes you past Winnipeg’s historic, cultural, architectural and modern-day gems located in Downtown and St. Boniface.

Discover how easy it is to walk Winnipeg on Thursday, July 31 as Tourism Winnipeg hosts a stroll of The Loop. Snap pictures along the way using the hashtag #onyinthepeg and be entered into a contest to receive a great prize package. Rain or shine – meet at The Forks atrium at 1:00.

Or tackle The Loop on your own – the downloadable map makes it easy to plan your route. Among over 50 points of interest, visit Louis Riel’s tombstone, the oldest existing skyscraper in Canada (Union Bank Tower) and the Upper Fort Garry Gate from the early 1800s. The full circuit takes 3.5 hours, but a partial walk of The Loop is a great way to stretch your legs, clear your mind and love your city!
