Canada Day Living Flag at the Manitoba Legislative Building. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA! With glowing hearts, from far and wide, let's all celebrate Canada's birthday with a happy bang! Here's our list of some of the fun events happening around the province on July 1st:

Brandon

1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. | Riverbank Discovery Centre, Brandon Get ready for a Canada Day of fun for the whole family in Brandon! Events include Brandon Riverbank Duck Race, hay rides, face painting, origami, kids crafts, Meandher Creek Pumpkin Patch train rides, museum displays and fireworks!

Lower Fort Garry

9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. | Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site of Canada Get FREE admission at Lower Fort Garry to enjoy one of Canada's unique historic places. There will be kids crafts, entertainment, face painting, and yummy cake!

Oak Hammock Marsh

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Oak Hammock Marsh
Celebrate Canada day at the Marsh. Bring the family for an exciting day of outdoor fun, face painting, and crafts. Cupcakes will be served at 2 p.m. Horse-drawn wagon rides from 12:00 to 3:30 p.m.

Riding Mountain National Park

11:00 a.m. to dusk | Wasagaming Get FREE entry into the park to enjoy live performances and fun family-friendly activities. Learn more.

Selkirk

1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. | Various venues in Selkirk Selkirk will be hopping on Canada Day! There will be street hockey, volleyball tournaments, sand castle building contests, a "kidz zone," geocaching, live music and fireworks. For more info, email selkirkevents@gmail.com.

Thompson

10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. | Thompson Regional Community Centre Thompson is going all around the globe to celebrate Canada Day with events featuring Ukrainian, Aboriginal, Brazilian, Chinese and Punjabi cultures. Plus a pancake/hot dog brunch and fireworks in the evening.

Winnipeg

Canada Day Living Flag

9:30 a.m. to noon | Manitoba Legislative Building Come be part of the country's largest living flag! Enjoy music and pose for the ultimate Canada Day photo! First 2,000 get a free t-shirt!

Canada Day in Osborne Village

11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. | Osborne Street Experience traditional First Nation drumming, treat yourself to a gift from the market, quench that thirst with a bubble tea, followed by a game of street hockey, then take in a band and a cold bevy. That’s not all, don’t forget to bring the kids for the Al Simmons show and interactive Kidz Zone. Learn more

Canada Day at The Forks

1:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. | The Forks This is one national birthday party not to be missed. Family friendly activities all day long include clowns, big games, buskers, crafts and fun everywhere you look. Local talent fills The Forks with three stages of spectacular entertainment. Imaginary Cities and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra close off the evening with exhilarating performances and join forces to accompany a captivating fireworks display at 11:00 p.m. (weather permitting).

Canad Day Picnic in the Park

1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. | Lyric Theatre, Assiniboine Park Celebrate Canada Day at a Picnic in the Park! This family oriented day is FREE to all and a great way to celebrate our nation’s birthday in beautiful Assiniboine Park. The fun include games and activities for children, entertainment, birthday cake and a spectacular fireworks display.

Canad Day in Saint Boniface

10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. | Various venues, Saint Boniface Enjoy Canada Day at varioius venues in Saint Boniface!
