It's Manitoba Time! Weekend planner – Sep 21 to 23 The leaves are changing colour, the wind is picking up and you can definitely see your breath in the crisp, morning air. Autumn has officially arrived in Manitoba! On this lovely fall weekend, if you aren’t already listening to Tchaikovsky, hanging out with fellow bibliophiles, learning about hunting or falling into the arts, here are some more fun things to do:

Mystery at the Museum

Sep 21 to 22 | Fort la Reine Museum, Portage la Prairie Go on a twilight guided tour and take part in a mystery unfolding at the Fort la Reine Museum. This event will leave you wondering what’s around the next corner. Take a date or the whole family and get ready for a ghoulish good time! Advanced ticket purchases are recommended.

Red pandas at the Zoo

Open daily | Assiniboine Park Zoo, Winnipeg Have you seen the new baby red panda at the Zoo yet? Kiah is her name and she was born at the end of June. Oh, and she's also adorable! You can see Kiah and her parents Rufus and Rouge in their habitat at Toucan Ridge during regular Zoo hours (daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

Fall Family Festival

Sep 23 | FortWhyte Alive, Winnipeg Celebrate the harvest at FortWhyte Alive’s Fall Family Festival. Bring the whole family for a day of fun - featuring a farmer’s market, cultural activities, crafts, live entertainment, carnival games and outdoor recreation!

Fishing for channel cats

Red River, Lockport Load up a catfish rig with some shrimp past its prime, add a bobber and cast out. Bringing in a catfish can be a bit of a fight, but so worth it. Cats average 20 lbs and it’s not uncommon to haul in one over 25! Maybe end your fishing adventure with dinner at Skinner’s or Half Moon and regale everyone with your latest fish tale. If you need more convincing on how cool catfish fishing is, watch CBC's "Only in Canada" experience.

The weekend forecast is looking good, so have fun with whatever you decide to do.
