Yes, motorized watercraft that has undergone mandatory tagging is allowed on the lake in 2026. Non-motorized days are Mondays and Tuesdays, and starting June 8th, 2026, all motorized watercraft will require a 45-day quarantine before launching in the lake.

What are non-motorized watercraft?

Non-motorized watercraft are boats or other types of water transportation that don’t use a motor to move. This includes canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, diving gear, multi-person inflatables and more.

What about other items like fishing equipment, wetsuits and inflatables?

All watercraft, fishing equipment, wetsuits and multi-person inflatables must complete a Parks Canada inspection and comply with Clean, Drain, Dry protocol.

These items are subject to the same two-permit system and visitors must choose between an annual permit for Clear Lake or one for other waterbodies in the park including Lake Audy, Moon Lake and Lake Katherine.

Is it safe to swim in the water? Are zebra mussels harmful to humans?

Zebra mussels are not directly harmful to humans, however, they are detrimental to ecosystems like lakes and bodies of water where they are an invasive species.
