The Rural Burger Battle brings together local restaurants and four rural Manitoba communities — Notre-Dame, Somerset, Rathwell and Treherne — for a friendly competition celebrating great food, local businesses and the communities that make rural Manitoba special.

During the Battle, participating restaurants will create their own unique Burger, giving visitors a chance to taste something they won't find on the regular menu. Guests are invited to visit participating restaurants, dine in or grab takeout, rate their burgers and cast their vote to help determine who will take home the title of Rural Burger Battle Champion.

But this event is about more than burgers — it's an invitation to take a road trip and explore rural Manitoba.

With four communities to discover and multiple restaurants to visit, visitors can turn their Burger Battle adventure into a day trip. Take the scenic route, stop for a meal, explore local shops and attractions, discover a new trail or park, and experience the unique character and hospitality of each community along the way.

Treherne offers additional attractions to add to your itinerary, including the unique Glass Bottle Buildings, which are open throughout September, and the Second Chance Car Museum, open weekends throughout September from 1-4. Visitors can easily combine a battle Burger with a visit to these local attractions and make a full day of their trip.

The Battle also takes place during harvest season, making it a great opportunity for visitors and local farm families alike to enjoy a well-earned meal. Whether you're travelling with friends, bringing the family, meeting up with a harvest crew or simply looking for an excuse to get out and explore, the Rural Burger Battle offers plenty of reasons to hit the road.
