Winnipeg Waterways and the Manitoba Canoe & Kayak Centre are hosting a Free Paddling event on June 27th, 2026: the BOAT JAM!
Grab a paddle, float with friends, and enjoy one of the best stretches of the Red River together. DJ The Kaptain will be spinning tunes from on board our boat for the entire floattila! Participants will travel downstream as a group from St. Vital Park to the Manitoba Canoe & Kayak Centre. On Saturday, June 27, the group will depart at approximately 2:00 PM, with arrival expected around 4:00 PM.
Bring your own boat and join for free or borrow a boat for a small fee. You can even climb aboard the music boat. no paddling required!
Kayaks for 1, Canoes for 2, Dragon boats for 10 or 20 people that include a steerer! Register through the website and reserve your spot. Even if you're planning to bring your own boat. So we know who to expect!
All rental boats must be booked in advance and will be delivered directly to the launch site before departure. The event begins at At Vital Park boat launch, and ends at the Kayak Club. **Transportation is not provided to or from the launch sites**
