Here are a few options where you can wet your whistle this summer:

Wigwam Dining & Lounge, Riding Mountain National Park

For the better part of the last century, the Wigwam has been a meeting place for locals and visitors alike. In the summer months, this outdoor space is teeming with fun-loving folks enjoying the atmosphere and the warm weather. Insider tip: for a true taste of summer, try the Banana Bailey Colada. YUM doesn’t begin to describe it!

Paint Lake Lodge, Paint Lake Provincial Park

After a busy day of waterfall chasing at Pisew Falls or reeling up monster walleyes on the lake, head over to Paint Lake Lodge and grab a seat on their patio overlooking the marina. If you time it right, you’ll have the best seats in the house for one of the most picture-perfect sunsets your eyes will ever see.

Rivers Edge Golf Course, Beausejour

Situated along the picturesque Brokenhead River, this screened-in patio offers a two-for-one: the prettiest view you can imagine while knocking back a cold one! It’s the perfect summer retreat. Pro tip: you don’t have to golf to enjoy the view. This patio (and adjoining restaurant) is open to the public!

McGee’s Family Restaurant, Carman

Overlooking the sprawling greens at Carman Golf & Curling Club, the patio at McGee’s is a stunner and one that everyone should experience this summer. If sipping on a sweet sangria while listening to the soothing sounds of the water fountain in the nearby pond doesn’t sound like a little piece of heaven on Earth, I don’t know what does?

Angry Pelican Lounge, Gull Harbour

Don’t worry, there are no angry pelicans hanging around this lounge! Just thirsty people like you looking for an idyllic spot to while away the summertime hours. Recently renovated, the Angry Pelican boasts two lovely patio areas – a screened-in option and an open outdoor space, both of which boast waterfront views that will make you want to return again and again!

Prairie Firehouse, Brandon

For more than a century, this historic building was home to the local fire station, the base for putting out fires and “cooling off” the surrounding area. How fitting then, that Prairie Firehouse continues to be the local watering hole, cooling down the community on our hot, prairie summer days! Fun fact: many of the patio tables and chairs were handcrafted by local high school students! Admire the handiwork while enjoying your brew.
