Pride Month in Manitoba runs throughout June, with some events beginning in late May and others extending into July and as late as September. If you're planning to attend multiple celebrations, keep in mind that many community events fall on the same weekend, particularly around June 13 and 14 this year. Follow local organizers on social media and individual event pages for confirmed dates, as details can shift closer to the season.

Getting Around During Pride Month

Many of Pride Winnipeg's events are centred downtown and at The Forks, making it easy to move between celebrations on foot, wheels or by bike. Winnipeg Transit and rideshare like taxis and Ubers are available throughout the city and can help you navigate between neighbourhoods without the hassle of parking.

For events across the province, plan to drive between communities and check event listings for details on parking and local transit options. Travel Tips

Pride events in Manitoba take place outdoors and in community spaces, often on warm summer days. Pack sunscreen, a reusable water bottle and any medications you need so you can stay comfortable throughout the day. Dressing in layers is a good idea, as Manitoba evenings can cool down quickly even in summer.

Use inclusive language and be mindful of the space you're sharing. Pride events are built on community and everyone deserves to feel welcome. Respect the guidelines set by individual events, especially at smaller, community-led gatherings, and take your cues from organizers and participants.

When you can, support local 2SLGBTQIA+ businesses, artists and vendors. Many Pride events feature local makers and community organizations and it's one of the best ways to make your visit count beyond the celebrations themselves.

Throughout the year, communities across the province continue to create inclusive spaces through arts, culture and community events that celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ voices. From local performances to everyday gathering places and businesses owned by community members, there are many ways to experience a sense of belonging beyond Pride Month.

In Winnipeg, the Rainbow Resource Centre offers support to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and has a calendar chock-full of fun events throughout the year. Little Brown Jug Brewing Co. regularly hosts queer comedy nights, pride mixers and drag bingo, brunches and dance parties. The West End Cultural Centre is an inclusive space that frequently showcases 2SLGBTQIA+ performances.

2SLGBTQIA+-owned businesses in Winnipeg include Good Neighbour Brewing Co., Black Market Provisions, Eadha Bakery Co-op, Chocolate Zen Bakery, Boomerang 360, Vantage Vintage Boutique, Capital Bar and Grill and Oh Doughnuts, to name a few.

Check out the Reel Pride International Film Festival, Canada’s longest-running 2SLGBTQIA+ film festival. It’s typically held in September and showcases queer films from around the world.
