Easily the hub of the town in summer, the lake offers all sorts of opportunities, including swimming, fishing, canoeing, boating and other water sports such as tubing and waterskiing. A walk or drive through town will also provide vistas of the scenic lake.

To access the lake, a boat launch and marina are found in a small bay just outside Erin Park, and there’s a fishing dock on the west side of Water Street Bridge. Head inside Erin Park for a buoyed swimming area and a sandy stretch of beach to relax on.

Erin Park

Erin Park is a must-visit during any summer trip to Killarney. Home to a beach, a buoyed swimming area, the Erin Park Splash Park, garden displays, picnic shelters and many other amenities, including change rooms and bathrooms, the peaceful park is filled with shady elm and oak trees and a meandering shoreline.

Farmers’ Market

The Killarney Farmers’ Market runs every Saturday morning in July and August. Formerly located in the downtown area, you can now find it in a small field outside the Shamrock Centre. Enjoy farm-fresh produce, homemade breads and baked goods, arts and crafts, local honey and much more.

Killarney Lakeside Golf Club

Another walking trail in Killarney begins by the Agricultural Society Campground, taking you along the lake’s shoreline and past numerous barns and antique farm machinery. Shamrock Drive In

If you’re looking for a retro experience that’s sure to be a highlight of your summer, head to the Shamrock Drive In. Operating since 1953, this iconic spot is open on Fridays and Saturdays and shows current movies and beloved classics throughout the summer. Concessions and bathrooms are available on-site.

Gates open about an hour before the movie begins, giving kids a chance to run around and play (and for you to buy popcorn and snacks, of course). There is a dedicated radio station so that you can hear the movie in your car, but speakers are also provided at each of the parking spots.

Pro tip: Make sure to figure out your car’s settings before you arrive; headlights must be completely off to avoid shining light on the screen, but you may want your car running for air conditioning and/or sound.

Bonus: You can sometimes spot the northern lights from this location!

The Lakeside Grill

The Killarney Lakeside Golf Club is where you’ll find The Lakeside Grill, a lively spot that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snag a spot on the patio for fresh air and beautiful views of Killarney Lake and the golf course. On the menu, you’ll find something for everyone, including salads, sandwiches, burgers and beyond.

Wu’s Restaurant

Found in the heart of Killarney, Wu’s Restaurant is a family-owned and -operated spot that features Chinese and Canadian cuisine.
