Assiniboine Park Zoo

Located minutes from downtown Winnipeg and airport areas, Assiniboine Park Zoo provides visitors with the opportunity to interact with over 180 animal species from all corners of the globe. Open year-round, with over 80 park-like acres to explore.

The award-winning Journey to Churchill is home to polar bears, muskoxen, Arctic fox, wolves and other northern species. It is the most comprehensive exhibit of its kind in the world. An educational classroom like no other, inviting exploration, challenging thinking and promoting personal action. The Leatherdale International Polar Bear Conservation Centre is a hub for environmental and wildlife education, research and conservation. This state-of-the-art facility will ensure that Manitoba remains a centre of global influence in polar bear conservation while providing a unique experience for Manitoban families and visitors alike.

Located in the north area of the Zoo, the McFeetors Heavy Horse Centre covers 4.7 acres and is home to Percheron horses year-round and includes a barn, pastures, paddocks and a carriage shed. Wagons rides are offered in the summer and sleigh rides in the winter for an additional fee.

Tundra Grill offers affordable quick-service meals with plenty of kid-friendly items and incredible views of the Zoo’s largest polar bear exhibit through a 150-foot-wide wall of 9-foot-high windows.

Two gift shops are located within the Zoo: Wild Things Unique Gifts (located at the Zoo entrance) and Arctic Treasures (located at the North end of the Zoo).
