Dark Sky Viewing at HyLife Back Forty Park

Discover Neepawa after dark. HyLife Back Forty Park was declared in the summer of 2026, as a Dark Sky Viewing Area by the Town of Neepawa . In doing this, Neepawa positioned itself as a leader in astronomy tourism, community innovation and outdoor recreation. Neepawa regularly experiences exceptional aurora and night sky viewing making it an ideal, accessible location for photography and astronomy. The HyLife Back Forty offers open sky views especially to the north and east where aurora and Milky Way visibility is naturally stronger. Independent light pollution mapping indicates that the area around the HyLife Back Forty is within Bortle 3-4 conditions (Dark Rural to Rural – Small Town Sky). This means there are very good to excellent night sky conditions suitable for stargazing and astrophotography. Please follow Manitoba Aurora Chasers on Facebook to learn more about awareness, education, and appreciation of the Aurora Borealis and dark sky features, and follow Neepawa Tourism for Dark Sky events.
