Posted: May 12, 2025 | Author: Jonah Nguyen | Estimated Read Time: 4 minutes

Winnipeg is home to plenty of world-class restaurants to fill your stomach. Follow along with me as I take you along a full day of eating around Winnipeg! We kicked things off with breakfast in the park and it set the bar high for everything that followed after.

Breakfast: Prairie's Edge

Lunch: 529 Uptown

Dinner: Peasant Cookery

For the final stop of the day, we headed to Peasant Cookery in the Exchange. The vibe was warm and laid back with the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern aesthetics. Rooster statues are tucked away in every corner, adding personality to the décor and somehow making the place feel extra cozy.

We kicked things off with a tarte flambee (French flatbread). We chose the Duck a l'orange tarte (House made duck prosciutto, seared pears, creme fraiche, arugala, white wine and fresh orange gastrique) and it was incredible. The Flatbread was light and was the perfect vessel for the duck which was bursting with complex flavours.

If you're catching up with a friend, planning a date night or even if you're just treating yourself, these places are definitely worth a visit. In between these fantastic restaurants, there is plenty of time to explore Winnipeg. Walk around the downtown area and Exchange District to find shopping and maybe even a summer festival, or dig into culture and history at attractions like the Manitoba Museum and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
