Marketing Campaign of the Year

Presented to an individual, organization, business or marketing consortium in recognition of a creative or innovative marketing campaign that increases visitation, revenue or other campaign objectives in alignment with campaign goals.

Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada – Grand Opening

In May 2022, the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada officially opened the doors to its new location at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport campus. The four-phase marketing and brand awareness campaign for the grand opening included digital marketing, out-of-home, print, radio, and partnerships with travel organizations and industry partners. Through this well-planned and well-executed campaign, the Royal Aviation Museum surpassed all visitation, sales goals and metrics set for its first year in operation.

The Leaf – Opening Launch

The Leaf – Canada’s Diversity Gardens is the largest public garden project in North America and the first and only to share cultural stories through the world of plants.

Leveraging partnerships to maximize marketing opportunities, The Leaf built up its brand through a combination of paid and unpaid marketing as well as traditional and digital channels before its opening in December 2022. By the end of June, The Leaf had already surpassed all membership, admissions and revenue goals for the 2023 fiscal year.

Trail Tutors Inc. – Northgate Trails Dauphin

Melisa Stefaniw and Alex Man have taken the Northgate Multi-Use Trail network and the experiences they are able to offer here to new heights. Their packages offer mountain bike and fat bike tours for all skill levels and make use of the trails in all four seasons (with walking and snowshoe experiences, even at night).

Marketing through non-traditional means like social media, guesting on Explore Magazine podcasts and through word of mouth in the Parkland and mountain biking community, Trail Tutors are finding unique ways to share their passion and bring more guests to the trail.

Winnipeg Folk Fest – 2022 Folk Fest

In 2022, the Winnipeg Folk Fest made a triumphant return after a three-year hiatus. Increasing visibility through storytelling and sharing memories of past festivals, the Winnipeg Folk Fest bolstered their marketing spend. Promoted social media content, expanded print and out of home advertising, radio contests and app ads successfully brought in increased attendance from targeted audiences to make 2022 the second highest attended festival in Folk Fest history.
