Campaign promotes United Airlines’s new non-stop flight routes between Winnipeg and Chicago and Denver.

Earlier this month, Travel Manitoba launched a new digital marketing campaign in both Chicago (ORD) and Denver (DEN) markets to promote United Airlines’ new non-stop flights to Winnipeg, announced earlier this year.

“The return of direct flights from Denver and Chicago is so important to Manitoba’s tourism industry. It’s terrific news, and we’re ready to welcome even more American visitors,” said Colin Ferguson, President & CEO of Travel Manitoba.

“The return of direct flights from Denver and Chicago is so important to Manitoba’s tourism industry. It’s terrific news, and we’re ready to welcome even more American visitors,” said Colin Ferguson, President & CEO of Travel Manitoba.

There are now six, year-round direct flights from U.S. destinations to Winnipeg, the greatest number in the Winnipeg Airport Authority’s history.

The campaign includes digital hyper-targeting and geofencing tactics to reach potential visitors with interest in travelling to Manitoba. A key component of the campaign is digital signage in both Chicago and Denver airport terminals to further drive awareness of United Airline’s new routes.

“Our integrated approach to marketing these new routes will put Manitoba top of mind for potential travellers,” said David Wolodarksy, Marketing Manager for Travel Manitoba. “By targeting these markets, we can promote legendary Manitoba experiences to an audience already interested in what our province has to offer.”

Ad creative for the campaign is focused on promoting Winnipeg and Churchill, leaning into the non-stop flight connection bringing polar bear experiences and Winnipeg-based excursions “closer than you think” to Chicago and Denver audiences. Print ads will be published in United Airlines' in-flight magazine Hemispheres throughout the campaign period.

Travel Manitoba’s ads will drive users to travelmanitoba.com where they can learn more about Winnipeg and Churchill experiences.

The campaign will run until May 2024.
