Guest Ranches

Longing to give your inner cowpoke free rein? Local hosts offer a whole range of guest ranch experiences across Manitoba.

Round up a herd of cattle at Parkland Ranch, a beef ranch and horse-training operation near Lake of the Prairies and Asessippi Provincial Park and ski hill. Learn to ride like a pro, take yoga classes or immerse yourself in a week-long horsemanship course when you're not fishing, paddling a canoe and working up an appetite for three squares a day.

You'll find Tennessee Walking horses and a herd of cattle at the 1,100-acre 9 Finger Ranch, which has camping and RV facilities as well as a guest house on the south side of Riding Mountain National Park. Meet the border collies who help round up the cattle at Campbell's Angus Ranch near Onanole, or experience a supernatural vacation at Falcon Beach Ranch at Whiteshell Provincial Park.

Along with trail rides - including an overnight ride that includes a campfire steak dinner - your Falcon Beach hosts offer a UFO ride to the scene of the infamous Falcon Lake Incident, where a Winnipeg prospector encountered a UFO in 1967. Rent one of three log chalet-style cabins with decks and wood-burning fireplaces, and when you're not in the saddle, take advantage of scenic hiking and cross-ski trails and watersports.
