Coronavirus and Tourism in Manitoba

March 13, 2020

Dear Industry Partners,

With the current outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), and with the discovery of presumptive cases in Manitoba, Travel Manitoba is pausing all social and digital marketing until further notice. We will be working on a plan to address partnership opportunities affected during this time.

In accordance with the social distancing recommendations released by Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living, Travel Manitoba has closed our Visitor Information Centres and staff will be working from home until further notice. Travel Manitoba staff will be available by phone and email. Travel Manitoba is fully operational with the exception of face to face visitor counselling. Customers will continue to receive personalized information by phone. During this period, Travel Manitoba staff will be preparing for the continuation of regular operations and marketing activity in accordance with the timelines recommended by provincial and federal governments.

Operators are encouraged to consider implementing and communicating policies regarding trip cancellations or postponements.

As the situation continues to evolve, we will continue to share information. Please watch your inbox, check our Tourism Industry website or give us a call.
