Northern Lights, Winter Nights 8 Day (February & March)
Led by a knowledgeable interpretive guide, the eight-Day adventures begins in Winnipeg – our capital and gateway city – where guests participate in an introductory northern lights photography clinic at the Manitoba Museum and Planetarium to gain tips on capturing the phenomenon. Guests will then travel to Churchill to behold the dancing of the evening skies and to learn about the history and culture of this unique northern community.
- One night at the Inn at the Forks, Winnipeg
- Tour Manitoba Museum and Planetarium, learn to photograph the Northern Lights
- Visit the Eskimo Museum in Churchill
- Northern Lights viewing opportunities each night from a heated Tundra Buggy
- Daily wildlife presentations, snowshoeing and dog sledding
- One night at the Four Points Sheraton in Winnipeg
Arrive in Winnipeg. Check-in at The Inn at The Forks, followed by an evening meet-and-greet to discuss the itinerary.
Visit the Manitoba Museum and Planetarium for an introductory photography clinic on how to best capture the phenomenon of the aurora on camera. Interactive program on the traditional lifestyles of the Inuit people to follow.
Arrive in Churchill and tour the town and area. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon at the Eskimo Museum and evening viewing and photographing of the northern lights from a Tundra Buggy.
Daily activities include wildlife presentations, snowshoeing and dog sledding excursions. Each evening features extensive northern lights viewings from a Tundra Buggy.
Morning flight from Churchill. Free time in Winnipeg. Overnight at Four Points Sheraton Hotel.
