Big Five Safari 8 Day Itinerary (July & August)
Winnipeg, Churchill, Riding Mountain National Park
Frontiers North's Manitoba adventure takes guests from the sloping forests of Riding Mountain National Park to the treeless tundra of Churchill in search of Manitoba's five biggest mammals: black bear, moose, bison, beluga whale and polar bear. This interpretive guided tour will open your eyes to Manitoba's wild side.
- 2 nights at the Four Points Sheraton in Winnipeg
- 2 nights in Riding Mountain National Park
- 3 nights in Churchill
- Wildlife viewing (moose, black bear, bison) in Riding Mountain National Park
- Boat tour to view beluga whales and visit Fort Prince of Wales National Historic Site
- Tundra Buggy tour to search for polar bear
- Dog carting excursion
Arrive in Winnipeg. Check-in at Four Points Sheraton, followed by an evening meet-and-greet to discuss the itinerary.
Following breakfast, depart for Riding Mountain National Park. Afternoon tour of the Parks Canada Centre, evening safari in the park in search of moose, black bear and bison.
Morning safari, free time in afternoon to spend at the resort or to explore the park.
Return to Winnipeg for flight to Churchill. Dinner in Churchill followed by Parks Canada presentation.
Breakfast at a local restaurant followed by the Roads & Trails program. Afternoon boat tour on the Churchill River. View beluga whales and stop for a walking tour of Fort Prince of Wales.
Zodiac boat ride on the Churchill River to get even closer to beluga whales. Afternoon dog-carting excursion.
Full Day Tundra Buggy adventure in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area in search of polar bears. Evening flight from Churchill and overnight at Four Points Sheraton in Winnipeg.
