The Fort la Reine Museum is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Canadian Prairies as well as the history of the City and Municipality of Portage la Prairie. The Fort la Reine Museum has over 25 buildings displaying thousands of individual artifacts including pre-European contact First Nation's artifacts to more modern collections including historic fire trucks, an old print shop, "Fisher's" general store, the "West Prospect" school, churches, hand hewn log structures, and historic homes.
For the 2017 Season there are three new travelling exhibitions to explore! Guided tours can be arranged for groups of 6 or more!
Open from May till the end of September.; 9-6 Monday - Saturday; 12-6 Sunday; Group tours by appointment.
The Fort la Reine Museum is located on Hwy 1 & 1A, at the east edge of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. A short 40 minute drive just West of Winnipeg.
