Nuit Blanche Winnipeg is a free nighttime exploration and celebration of contemporary art that kick-starts Culture Days Manitoba. Although the direct translation for Nuit Blanche is white night’, the context of the translation means a sleepless night.’
For 2021, Nuit Blanche Winnipeg will offer expanded dates to better accommodate audiences, and will feature projects that run throughout the Culture Days Manitoba month: September 24 – October 24. Art installations in the "Illuminate the Night" program will be set up in window displays around Downtown, the West End, the Exchange, The Forks, and St. Boniface so that audiences can enjoy them from outside on any evening during the month. Other activities and events will take place during the month, so check the listings on our website to find a project that speaks to you!
Nuit Blanche Winnipeg takes place on Treaty 1 Territory and on the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene Peoples and the homeland of the Métis Nation. We offer our respect and gratitude to the traditional caretakers of this land.
