Rosella Farmer is a Manitoba artist who has been a member of her local art society, the Charleswood Art Group, since 2003 and was juried into the Manitoba Society of Artists in 2010, serving as the Membership Chairperson from 2011 to 2015. In December 2014, Rosella was awarded publication of her painting “A Tangled Fling” in a mixed media book titled, “Incite 3: The Art of Storytelling.” This painting involved a technique called Zendoodle or Zentangle, which involves small patterns invented through mark-making. What made this award even more special was that the model featured in the painting was her granddaughter, who in the picture was joyfully flinging her long hair over her head. Rosella enjoys experimenting in many different mediums with various techniques. She loves to paint subjects from nature inspired by her large flower garden. She also enjoys painting portraits, still life, collages and contemporary abstract works inspired by her travels throughout Canada and the United States. Much of her work focuses on light and colour.
