On February 19, 2018, Inclusion Winnipeg will host the Wild Winter Canoe Race where Winnipeggers will test their voyageur grit and sense of humor on the Red River Trail at The Forks. We invite groups of friends, coworkers, trainers, teammates, family & classmates to put a team (5 people per team) together! This is an inclusive, wildly unusual and high-energy outdoor steeplechase. Whether you choose to participate or sip hot chocolate on the sidelines, don’t miss it! Bring your cowbells, noisemakers & flags & join the fun!
What is a Winter Canoe Race?
It’s a race…in a canoe… in February! This high-octane contest is held on a snow-packed 200-meter course, using tripping canoes. The only “paddling” required comes from the team’s legs – one leg in the canoe, one leg out - a synchronized crew that works foot power to glide to the finish line.
