Discover the second Martyr’s Shrine in Canada. Experience the prayerful and peaceful atmosphere of the Shrine Chapel, that contains the relics (mortal remains) of this modern day Ukrainian Catholic Martyr. Beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2001, Blessed Vasyl was persecuted and tortured by the Soviet regime for remaining faithful to his church. He died in Winnipeg in 1973. Learn about his life story depicted in the museum featuring artifacts from Ukraine. The Shrine is within a church that is filled with beautiful Byzantine icons, mosaics, and stained glass windows.
Open Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
