Where Pokémon Go in Manitoba

Whether they hail from Ryme City or they live with their trainers in Lavender Town or Sootopolis, even Pokémon need to escape the daily grind. Here are a few places in Manitoba where some of our favourite Pokémon will feel right at home.

Pikachu Visits the Manitoba Electrical Museum & Education Centre

Everyone’s favourite electric type will certainly connect with the exhibitions at this museum dedicated to the history of Manitoba’s electricity from the 1870s to the present. With static and lightening rod capabilities, Pikachu might even be able to add to the museum’s educational content!

Bulbasaur Explores the International Peace Garden

With sweet scent as a possible move, Bulbasaur, the Seed Pokémon, will enjoy a visit to the International Peace Garden. Bulbasaur can catch some rays for the seed on its back, using the energy to grow – just like the 80,000 flowering annuals and perennials in the formal gardens. There will be no Pokémon battles here though; this garden that straddles the Canada-U.S. border is dedicated to the history of peace between the two neighbouring countries.

Squirtle Checks out Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre

This water type Pokémon will want to dive into the fun at this restored wetland. Home to hundreds of species of birds, amphibians, reptiles and insects, the Tiny Turtle Pokémon can say hello to the other turtles in the Interpretive Centre exhibits, and even help with feeding. Squirtle can also join an interpreter for a seasonal walk through the marsh.

Beartik Discovers Churchill

Beartik might get mistaken for a local in Churchill, known as the polar bear capital of the world. This ice type Pokémon is certainly well adapted to the climate, also hailing from northern maritime locations. Beartik might enjoy learning more about the culture of the area, perhaps with a visit to the Itsanitaq Museum showcasing Inuit art, or with a thrilling dogsled ride through the boreal forest.

Ekans Goes to the Narcisse Snake Dens

The Snake Pokémon, Ekans, can hang out with some slithering pals at the Narcisse Snake Dens. There are tens of thousands of red sided garter snakes that emerge from their dens to mate in the spring. Ekans is used to a plains environment, so it can easily follow the these snakes on their as they return to their winter dens during their fall migration.

Eevee Loves it Everywhere in Manitoba

Known as the Evolution Pokémon, Eevee adapts to many environments, making this the perfect Pokémon to explore all of Manitoba during every season! Taking in landscapes that range from golden prairie, rocky Canadian Shield, ancient sand dunes, dense boreal forest and vast tundra, Eevee will be ready explore all of Manitoba.
