Last week, Winnipeg awoke to the sight of hoarfrost coated trees – a sight that prompted the inspiration for our next Winter in the Whiteshell theme. We asked our Instagram community to show us photos that depicted ❄️Ice & Frost☃️ and were delighted by portraits of frosted branches, wide-sweeping vistas of the slowly freezing landscape and incredible flurry feats of nature.
The three finalists for the ❄️Ice & Frost☃️ challenge are…
Chris P. Bakön (@craspybakon)
Chris’s frosty adventure took him to the Whiteshell Suspension Bridge, where he produced gorgeous shots of frosted branches with blue hues.
Liz Tran (@liz.tran)
Liz’s winning entry perfectly captured the beauty of early winter; the inbetween where water flows freely, surrounding by slowly creeping ice and frosted shores.
Dylan Boychuk (@dylanboychuk)
Dylan’s unbelievable photo caught our eye immediately, showing that winter’s frosted beauty can be absolutely be seen within the urban landscape.
This week, we challenge you to capture the best of Manitoba’s winter outdoor adventure on Instagram. Show us your favourite skating, skiing and snowshoeing shots and tell us about why you love being active in the winter. Just a reminder that old photos are accepted, as long as they are reposted within the contest timeline. All finalists will have the chance to win our grand prize – a 3 night stay in the Whiteshell (which now includes a stay at the gorgeous Falcon Trails Resort)! Don’t forget to tag #exploremb and #igwhiteshell on your posts!
