Nothing truly says summer like a dock, a lake, and a cold beer in your hand. One of life's pleasures includes getting out in the wild whether it's camping, hiking or just spending the day at the beach--and clearly that pleasure is enhanced with a beverage--especially when it's made right here in Manitoba.
Farmery Estate Brewery, located right inside the town of Neepawa (about 2 hours north west of Winnipeg), is Manitoba's answer to home grown ale embodying the farm-to-can philosophy. Brothers Chris and Lawrence not only brew their beer right on site, they also grown their own ingredients including the barley and hops that help create and flavour their beers.
Visit their show room to purchase all of their beers, Farmery branded swag and even beauty products made from their own hops. You can also take a tour of the brewery and, most importantly, sample some of goods on tap.
In the summer, a food truck boasts comfort food favourites that keep things as local as possible. Fish tacos are made with Manitoba pickerel and northern pickerel while the beer batter in the fish and chips is made with (you guessed it) Farmery's own brews. Pulled pork sandwiches are made with pork from down the road and the smokies from local 4H-raised beef from a neighbouring farm.
The brewery produces numerous products that range from light, easy-drinking lagers, to fruit infusions to deep bitter stouts. (And don't forget their whole line of malted sodas, as well.)
It may leave you wondering which beer is the one for you. With that in mind, we've created this handy quiz that will tell you which Farmery beer is your perfect match.
