Le Musée de St. Boniface Museum

Housed in the oldest remaining structure in the city of Winnipeg and the largest oak log building in North America, Le Musée de St. Boniface offers a glimpse into the heritage and contributions of French Canadian and Métis communities in Manitoba

New Iceland Heritage Museum

The New Iceland Heritage Museum aims to celebrate the culture and heritage of the original settlers who arrived in New Iceland in 1875. The museum features exhibits at two sites in Gimli; the Waterfront Centre and the Lake Winnipeg Visitor Centre. On in the month of July is photography exhibit When the Wind is Right by Linda Vermeulen, featuring sailing photos from Lake Winnipeg.

Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre

111 Gilmour St, Morden

The Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre is home to the most extensive and largest collection of marine reptile fossils in Canada, which includes the famous Bruce, the largest publicly displayed mosasaur in the world. The museum offers the unique experience to go on an authentic Fossil Dig, as well as a brand new augmented reality self-guided tour and a challenging escape room: Escape from Cretaceous Park!

Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum

300 Commonwealth Way, Brandon

• Summer hours: 7 days a week, 10 am to 4 pm

Founded and operated by volunteers, the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum is the only museum in the world dedicated solely to preserving the history of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan while also serving as a memorial to those who trained and served in the air war of 1939-1945.

Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada

2088 Wellington Avenue, Winnipeg

Discover 100 years of aviation history with the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada’s on-site collection of more than 20 aircraft. Climb aboard a 1960’s-era passenger plane, learn about a top-secret project for the or watch planes come and go from the stunning observation lounge.

Explore 17 interactive & immersive zones featuring supersonic jets, beautifully restored bush planes and other unique aircraft while learning about the many contributions from Canadian aviation legends, Indigenous peoples and women in advancing aviation in Western Canada.

Kids will especially love the space-themed ‘Galaxy Exploration Zone’ play-area!

Manitoba Agricultural Museum

With the goal of immersing visitors in the past, present and future of prairie lifestyles, the Manitoba Agricultural Museum is the place to go for all things agricultural. The museum is the only agricultural museum in Canada that operates a range of its antique equipment; a spectacle that comes to fruition during the annual Threshermen’s Reunion.

Mennonite Heritage Village

Experience an exciting tale of migration and settlement of Russian Mennonites at the Mennonite Heritage Village. This turn-of-the-century street village will take you back in time while the Livery Barn Restaurant will introduce you to the traditional (and delicious) Mennonite fare. The Dutch windmill is fully operational in the summer season. Don’t miss the Pioneer Days festival, August 4 to 7, 2017.
