The first few days of Festival Madness saw all types of results. Who would have thought we’d say goodbye to Folklorama and Folk Fest so soon, or that the toughest matchup would be between the vikings of Icelandic Fest and the fur traders of Trappers’? (Actually, no one. Both are tough, gritty and never give up.) It’s been a blast seeing all of you stand passionately by your favourite fêtes. And with almost all the Winnipeg festivals falling, I think we can all agree that you can never underestimate the power of a small community.

During yesterday’s battle, the Corn & Apple reigned in the Stampede, the Ukrainians twirled past the Voyageurs, and the Fire & Water left Minnedosa rocked to the core. That Fire & Water has some serious game. Now we are getting down to the nitty-gritty, it’s time to decide which fest triumphs in their division:

pythonCulture-rific has those feisty Trappers’ taking on Ukrainian Fest, while Music-licious has Countryfest attempting to put out the Fire & Water. Fair-tastic sees the Royal Winter Fair trying to freeze out the Corn & Apples, while in the Wacky-ish division, the Fringe is trying to out-joust Medieval Fest.

And with that, it’s time to vote…
