1. Tinkertown

Growing up in Lorette, I have very fond memories of going to Tinkertown on school field trips and with my family throughout the summer. I loved riding the train, the ol' Tin Lizzie and those cute mini boats (even when I probably a little too old). Turns out, not much has changed and Tinkertown is still a beloved family summer tradition. The park is open from noon to 6:00 pm or 7:00 pm (depending on the weather) and offers a super reasonable all-you-can-ride pass for $19.

2. Fun Mountain Water Slide Park

Make the most of those hot summer days with a visit to Fun Mountain Water Slide Park. Start slow on the kid's slides or go all-in on the terrifying Dragon slide - there's something for all ages! In addition to the water park, you can also go mini-golfing or bumper boating. Affordable food can be ordered from the on-site concession stand while parents may opt for something a little stronger at the Tiki Bar. Check the calendar ahead of your visit for open hours.

3. Grand Prix Amusements

The options for fun are endless at Grand Prix Amusements, where you can choose from activities like mini golfing (pirate style!), bumper boats/cars, water wars, trampoline, batting cages, go karting and more! Admission to Grand Prix is free, with different payment options available for the different attractions. Hours change daily, so check the website ahead of your visit.

4. Red River Co-Op Speedway

Bet you didn't know that just 5 minutes south of Winnipeg, some pretty epic car racing happens every Thursday night during the summer. Gather at the racing oval and feel the adrenaline of the 'fastest sport on the prairies'! The race schedule is available online.

5. Auberge Escape Room

Escape Rooms are all the rage right now, but don't worry if you've already completed every room in Winnipeg, there are more to be discovered outside the perimeter! Within driving distance from Winnipeg, the Auberge Escape Room brings you into the mysterious rooms of a century-old building, where you will have to solve puzzles, codes and clues in order to escape. This activity is recommended for families with kids 13 and older.

6. Thunder Rapids Amusement Park

Thunder Rapids Amusement Park is another great option for keeping the kids occupied and active during the lazy days of summer. Whether they find a thrill in go karting, bumper boating, jungle gym-ing, arcade gaming OR all of the above, Thunder Rapids will keep the whole family happy. Weather permitting, Thunder Rapids is open during the summer Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

7. Splatter's Paintball

Did you know that Splatter's Paintball offers a low-impact option for kids aged 7 to 11 years of age? This gentler option allows your family to join into the fun and try something new. Splatter's also has a playground, fire pits (complimentary with your paintball experience) and bubble ball for larger groups or families!
