We checked in with Third + Bird, the province's largest artisan market (and 2018 winner of Travel Manitoba's tourism innovation award), and asked them to recommend some locally made gift ideas with a decidedly Manitoba flare, which can be sourced at Third + Bird's upcoming 10th anniversary Christmas market happening November 23 & 24 at The Bay downtown. We particularly love her clever line of Lake Maps, which allow Manitobans to bring a piece of their summer getaway into their home all year round.

Tall Grass Spirits @capitalkwpg

Local Capital K Distillery is behind the Tall Grass brand of grain-to-bottle craft spirits. Pick up bottles of their creative vodkas, gins and rums at Third + Bird (or Manitoba Liquor Mart locations) – they deserve a spot on your bar during this holiday entertaining season. Kevin Fawley’s work is a perfect gift idea for that hard-to-shop-for Manitoban on your list (ahem, like your brother). Fawley’s style mixes archival photographs of iconic Winnipeg locations with his signature post-apocalyptic, film noir style (and often infuses bizarre pop culture references).
