Winnipeg, Manitoba. March 26, 2015. Travel Manitoba continues its winning streak, taking top prize in two categories at the Canadian eTourism Awards. won Best Website and its Master Angler app won Best Mobile Application. These wins come after international recognition earlier this month with two golds and one silver from the WorldMediaFestival | TOURISM based out of Hamburg, Germany.

Travel Manitoba completely overhauled its website after launching its Manitoba, Canada's Heart...Beats brand last year. The goal was to create a more visual and engaging online experience, to create awareness of the new brand, and to present web content in a way that is easy to navigate. The new site has seen a rise in pageviews and traffic, and most notably, mobile traffic to the site has increased by 60%. The website beat out 16 other entries, including Destination British Columbia's website.

"We are thrilled that our work is being recognized in Canada and around the world," said Colin Ferguson, Travel Manitoba President and CEO. "These wins from the Canadian eTourism Awards are validation that our website is excelling at its purpose: providing visitors with the information they are looking for in a user-friendly online experience. And the rising popularity of the Master Angler App represents the evolution of the 55 year-old program."

The Master Angler App is an extension of Travel Manitoba's industry-leading Master Angler Awards program, which honours anglers who catch trophy fish in our province with certificates, badges and a permanent place in the Master Angler Record books.  The app was created to make it easier and faster for anglers to submit their catches. The app is available for free on iOS, (Android is under development for launch in 2015) and has been downloaded 1,600 times since launching last May.
