Wriggle into the soft sand on one of two man-made beaches at this park just one kilometre from the bilingual community of St. Malo. Created out of a reservoir formed by the Rat River Dam, this family-friendly lake and recreational park has been a local destination since 1961.

Sporty types can dive into a game of beach volleyball or rent a canoe or paddleboat for a cruise on still waters.

Step into the dappled shade of an aspen and oak forest for a ramble on a 5.5-kilometre trail loop on the north end of the lake, or take a shorter, novice-friendly 1.6-kilometre path.

After a busy day, tuck in at the edge of the woods at a serviced campsite and relive your adventures over a cozy fire.

In winter, enjoy snowmobile and cross-country ski trails along with the joie de vivre of a winter festival - the park is an outlying trading post during Winnipeg's famous Festival du Voyageur.
