MaddIn ManitobaTravel Manitoba, Manitoba Film & Music and industry partners are teaming up to give away a trip to Manitoba at the 2015 Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival), February 5-15.

Acclaimed Manitoba filmmaker Guy Maddin's latest film The Forbidden Room will open the festival's ‘avant garde' filmmaking program and will be celebrated at an event at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin. The reception will host hundreds of international film industry professionals and one will win a trip to Manitoba to experience ‘Guy Maddin's Winnipeg'. The prize includes a tour of various cultural attractions given by Maddin himself, a trip to Churchill to see the beluga whales and a stopover in Gimli, the setting of Maddin's Tales from the Gimli Hospital. The winning name will be drawn by Maddin himself at the embassy event.

"The tourism industry and the film industry both want to show the world all the unique attributes of our province," said Colin Ferguson, President and CEO of Travel Manitoba. "This partnership with Manitoba Film & Museum is a great way to promote to an international audience that Manitoba is not only as a great place to shoot a film, but a great place to visit as well."
