With thousands of kilometres of forests, lakes and scenic escarpments to explore, you may want to drop anchor at more than one campground in Riding Mountain National Park. The spacious Wasagaming Campground is a popular spot close to the townsite, beaches and a host of other park amenities. Pitch a tent, park your RV or rent a Mongolian yurt or otentik with a private deck. Sites are equipped with fire pits and picnic tables and some have barbecues, along with easy access to washrooms, showers and kitchen facilities.
There's group camping for up to 60 people at Camp Kippechewin, 14.7 kilometres from Wasagaming at the west end of Clear Lake, with a campfire circle and two kitchen shelters. And Ma-Ma-O-Pe tents-only campground can accommodate groups of up to 40 people. Horseback riders can corral their horses at an equine campground at Lake Audy, which also offers lakeside sites, accessible toilets, a fish-cleaning station and an RV dump station. Back-country campsites are available with fire pits, firewood and picnic tables. And free spirits can choose random camping - just pick a spot at least 300 metres off trails and roadways and register your site with park administration.
