Over the last year, Travel Manitoba has made social media a priority. The work done by our e-marketing team, consisting of Manager Doug Evans and Coordinator Kirsten Neil has dramatically increased our online marketing reach.
In the last year our Twitter followers have grown to 5,802 from 1,500 – an increase over 286%! Our Facebook fan base is also increasing – we now have just over 13,500 fans. In March, we had 399 new users like our page. Our Facebook Fan Photo of the Week has increased fan engagement and user generated content. Our promoted posts generate an average of 100 new fans, including this Northern lights photo, which generated 1,358 likes, 506 shares and 98 comments.
Our niche websites are seeing great traffic – including ManitobaHot.com, which in March saw an increase in unique visitors of 1,054% (5,883) over last March (501). Our new HuntFishManitoba.ca site continues to perform very well, with unique visitors increasing 56% to 4,861 in March over February. And EverythingChurchill.com has seen an increase of unique visitors of 95% (10,024) over last year (5,125).
