Tips on How to Write a Nomination
By Travel Manitoba | April 19 2012 (0 Comments)

Travel Manitoba's Tourism Award program is now in it's 14th year. The Manitoba Tourism Awards is a prestigious recognition program that honors Manitoba Tourism businesses, orgainizations and individuals that are doing wonderful things to enhance Manitoba's tourism appeal. Each year, Travel Manitoba announces the call for nominations for the program's ten catagories. This year's nomination deadline is Friday, April 27th, at noon.

Writing a nomination for an award can seem like an intimidating undertaking. We have a few tips to help.

  1. Carefully review the criteria for the category. Determine if the nominee meets it. If you have questions, call Laurenda Madill at Travel Manitoba at 927-7833.
  2. Begin to compile information as soon as you can, so you don't feel rushed.
  3. Be specific in your answers and use plain language. Although experts in the industry, the people who read the nomination may not be familiar with the acronyms or jargon that may be second nature to you.
  4. Address all parts of each question completely.
  5. Where applicable, provide specific examples and measurable results.
  6. Review submission checklist before sending final submission:
  • Have you addressed all the questions and their points in your answers?
  • Have you completed all the requried fields?
  • Has the nominee completed and submitted an acknowlegdement of nomination form?
