Stonewall Quarry Park

Stonewall Quarry Park Giant limestone kilns form the focus of this unique park, which features a walking

Looming up on a hill like a medieval stronghold, three giant limestone kilns are the natural focal point of this 80-acre park. Once you've snapped that perfect photo, head for the hub - the Quarry Park Heritage Arts Centre, which houses the interpretive centre.

Exhibits and dioramas explain how nature created the limestone formations, and how an industry sprung up around them to supply limestone and quicklime for construction in the 19th century.

Meander along the park's walking trails and tiptoe across the white sand beach and into the man-made Kinsmen Lake for a cooling swim.

Catch a game at the baseball complex, drop by the concessions or picnic areas for lunch and stay a while at one of the campsites, which offer everything from basic tenting spots to full service RV sites with easy access to washrooms and showers.

Just 20 minutes north of Winnipeg off Hwy. 7, the park is open from May to October.
