Paint Lake Provincial Park

Paint Lake Provincial Park The park extends over 24,290 ha/55,950 ac. of Precambrian boreal forest. It

This all-season wilderness park is a picturesque paradise for canoeing, trophy fishing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.

Just 32 kilometres south of Thompson, the park encompasses more than 24,290 hectares of Precambrian boreal forest along with the many islands of Paint Lake and the Grass River Canoe Route. Rest your oars long enough to take pictures of ancient Aboriginal rock paintings and trappers' cabins on the shore - just don't drift too close to the rapids or waterfalls.

Home to moose, woodland caribou and wolves on land, with waters teeming with lake trout and northern pike, it's also a destination for sports enthusiasts who take advantage of its baseball fields and fitness trails.

The Paint Lake Resort and Marina has a restaurant, store and cabin rentals, and you can camp at fully serviced sites or head to one of the islands for some back-country camping.

You'll find key amenities like showers, concessions and playgrounds, along with services for physically challenged adventurers.
