Critters, Creatures and Creativity

Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre offers spring break camps for kids (March 25-28). They’ll learn about birds, bugs and the creatures that live in the marsh. Plus the Marsh is offering an Easter Egg GPS Hunt March 29-31. Learn how to use the GPS units to find hidden eggs in the marsh. Inside each egg is a clue – solve the puzzle and win a prize.
How do birds know to fly south for the winter? How do fish breathe underwater? Learn the answers to these questions and more at FortWhyte Alive’s spring break camps (March 25-28). With a new theme each day, including learning how pioneers made houses out of the earth and why Winnipeg is home to so many ducks and geese, your kids will come home bursting with new things to share.
Let your kids get a taste of being an artist in Canada at the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Art Camp (March 25-28). They’ll take sketching field trips and have the chance to show off their own masterpiece at a mini-exhibition at the end of the week. While you’re there, check out Thaw, an exhibition and sale of works by 30 artists who participate in the Interlake’s Wave Studio Tour.
