Hike to the top of Baldy Mountain - the highest elevation in Manitoba at 831 metres above sea level - then go higher still, up the observation tower for a spectacular panoramic view of the Manitoba Escarpment.
Enjoy a picnic on the summit while you plan your next adventure in Duck Mountain Provincial Park, known locally as The Ducks.
Fly-fishing lakes, hiking and biking trails and some of the best scuba diving in Manitoba are all right here. East Blue Lake is so clear that in some places, you can see right to the bottom 18 metres below. Go for a swim, play tennis, take up birdwatching and keep an eye out for signs of elk and other wildlife in the lush upland meadows bordering the boreal and deciduous forests.
Just an hour away from Dauphin, the park offers basic and serviced campsites, along with some back-country sites.
