Hugging the shore of Athapapuskow Lake, Bakers Narrows Provincial Park is a magnet for blue herons, playful otters, busy beavers and nature lovers.
Just south of Flin Flon, its 145 hectares of mixed-wood Precambrian boreal forest is also a destination for anglers who cast for walleye, lake trout and pike.
Slide your canoe into the water and paddle out to the island that makes up the eastern part of the park. Follow a short trail to a viewing tower where you can enjoy spectacular scenery in every direction.
The lake is known for its rocky shores - Athapapuskow is a Cree word meaning rocks all around. But there are three beaches and you'll find lakeside yurts and traditional camping facilities with access to showers and modern washrooms.
