Featuring contemporary work by artists from the region, province and across Canada, the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba adds a touch of urban sophistication to the small city of Brandon. As the second largest public gallery in Manitoba, the exhibitions in our two galleries change every 6 - 9 weeks. A friendly staff and an abundance of interpretive material are ready to answer any question. Tours and workshops are available for families and groups. Just call ahead and we’ll create an art experience that might just change your life! Afterwards, visit our gift shop for a unique memento created by some of Manitoba’s premier artists.
Some of the programs we offer:
Art Classes for adults and children
At the AGSM art is for everyone! Adults and children, from beginner to advanced, our 6 studio classrooms and 15 professional artist/instructors can provide instruction in ceramics, photography, printmaking, painting, drawing and digital media. With four terms per year and up to 20 different classes & workshops each term to choose from, nearly 600 children and adults enroll in our art classes annually. Class and workshop fees vary.
Summer art classes for children (6-13 yrs) run from one week to 4 weeks, ½ day to full day weekly sessions, through the month of July!
TOURS AND WORKSHOPS
Tours are available for groups of 2 to 25. For groups of 5 or more, we can provide a hands-on workshop where you can create work based on your experience of the exhibition. Avoid disappointment, call ahead to reserve your time.
ABOUT US:
The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba is Manitoba’s second largest public art gallery with a history that stretches back to 1905. Our exhibition and education programs are driven by a commitment to community transformation through visual art. Located in the heart of downtown Brandon, we are hidden within the Town Centre Mall on Rosser Avenue between 7th and 9th Street.
We are currently open to the public Tuesday to Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM, Thursday evenings until 9 PM, and Saturdays from 12 - 5 PM (closed Sunday and Monday).
