Red River Exhibition

Fun Never Gets Old!

The EX is celebrating 60 years of good times and midway magic, June 17-26, 2011!

Manitoba's biggest summer fair has something for everyone - old school acts, like a human cannonball, an aerial stunt show and a street circus; free nightly concerts ranging from pop and country music, to alternative and rap rock; family attractions; agricultural displays; and much, much, more!

Be amazed and amused by a comedic hypnotist; cheer on the EXtreme Dogs agility team; and get up close and personal with cuddly critters in the petting zoo.  See alligators, giant lizards, tortoises and dinosaur skulls in the reptile show and be introduced to kangaroos and wallabies in the Aussie Kingdom.

Take your little ones on the kiddie-size rides and learn and play together in Prairie Town Adventures, a free, interactive attraction with five themed areas: Prairie Town Farm, Fossil Find, Construction Zone, Rescue Station and Itty Bitty City.  As a special treat, bring them to see beloved children's entertainer Fred Penner.  He's peforming two shows on the WestJet Main Stage, Sunday, June 26 only.

Kids (and adults!) can pan for real gemstones at the brand-new Red River Mining Company and attempt to land a live one in The Fishing Pond. (We'll release it back into the water if they do!)

View a variety of farm animals - including adorable farm babies - in the Touch the Farm exhibit and an antique tractor display.

Get a taste of Southern hospitality with Cajun cooking and comedy served up by Louisiana's own Chef Landry, and sample classic fair food, like mini-donuts and cotton candy.  Arrive early on either Sunday (between 10:30 and 11:30 am) and we'll treat you to a hearty pancake breakfast.  Bring a non-perishable food donation, and you'll also get free admission during that hour.

Balance your guilty pleasures by visiting the GO4health EXpo sites, featuring fun fitness demonstrations, free giveaways, and advice on active living and healthy eating. A walk through the giant colon is sure to be unforgettable!

Watch Habitat for Humanity raise the roof (and the walls) on a new home being built for a family in need of affordable housing. Then take a virtual tour of Manitoba in CentrePlace, the award-winning pavilion from the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

Admire the entries in the Creative Arts EXtravaganza and Photo Salon; be mesmerized by Aboriginal drummers and dancers in the competition Pow Wow; and pick your favourites in the Kidz Quest, Stars of Tomorrow, and Senior Idol talent shows.

There's never a dull moment at The EX! See redriverex.com for event listings, concert schedules, special promotions and online ticket purchases.
